Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi again Steve. I'll look for that film, as I've just done with Monkey. The opening song, Monkey Magic, is bonkers and brought back great memories. I've never seen it in colour before as our set was black and white way back then. Well done for the reminder Relaxed

P️S I always join in with the exercise classes as moral support for H. He's not the most outgoing type but I am, and don't mind making a fool of myself. Our courses go on for months, the last was over 6 months and this one is for 4. Crikey xxx

  • Helen it was choice viewing! Far more entertaining than Kung Fu, although I always wanted Carradine to rip the rice paper...

  • Morning Gilly, I  hope you have a good time at exercise class, I  believe your new place is much closer to home too. XX

  • Morning Eddie.

It's much closer to home and the complex is less than two years old, so very modern. The gym has a huge picture window that overlooks the fields, but not as cosy as where we used to go Sob

It's all for the good and I won't allow LOH to start slacking. Plus, we met a lovely lady last week but she's got oncology today. I'm sure we'll make some new friends soon.

I hope your appointments go well today my friend xxx

  • Oooh give me modern for gym work, everytime, heating and air con make exercise much more fun, as does a good wind down, never tried calming music and meditation, tea and cake was ours, and no appointments today, unbelievably as of today no appointments till the new year, so when I finally get enough time to go to Australia, I'm banned from flying. XX

  • Aw that's great about the appointments, so you'll more than likely be able to go up to Scotland for a spell Pray

The gym's nice and it does have air con, but the hospice was more like being in someone's cosy home with a lovely garden. We'll definitely go back after winter, as there's lots to do and open to anyone with health issues. The lead nurse told us we're welcome to visit anytime, so we will.

I'd better get moving again, as the class starts at one and I'm one of those annoying types who like to be there early. See you later Eddie xxx

  • Gill, you'll be 'fit as a fiddle' in no time...or end up in a pile on the floor.

  • Gym is a swear word isn't it?

The nearest I've been to a gym was at school, sitting beside Jim for English literature.  I'm only joking... I never sat beside him!

  • Hi Steve. I don't know about fit as a fiddle, more like a washed out old boot. I was never one that looked forward to PE at school, so it's unlikely I'm loving it half a century down the line. The things we do for love. The worst bit is getting LOH in and out of the taxi - it's a right struggle now, what with his mobility issues and Walter doesn't help much.

Whining session over and looking forward to our tea. Now that's an exercise we both enjoy, getting our jaws in gear to wolf down some chow. I guess it's not all bad xxx

  • Gill, which hand does your OH use with Walter?  I'm left handed but 'Mr Sticky' likes my right hand (that sounds rude doesn't it?).

    On another matter, you said:

The things we do for love.

    That was 10CC wasn't it!!

    I should be eating Waffles!

    Have a good evening.
