Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Just a brief scatter of my musical tastes: Several years ago I realised that my staple diet of late Beatles then their solo efforts, a bit of The Incredible String Band and Chron Gen was insufficient, so I began to listen to Chinese artistes (Karen Mok) amongst others, then branched out from there. I took a liking to a singer from Laos, followed by others in the Asian region, notably Japan. During my many weeks in hospital in 2018, The Brilliant Green was my mainstay on my MP3 player through the long sleepless nights. I like a lot of other music but I'll stop there because I said 'brief'.
Hi, I wonder has anyone else had problems posting? I tried to reply to HC ages ago but when I was almost finished a notice came up saying I had to be a member before replying! I had already logged in but it took me back to the login page, then to a different Pist all together. When I got back here, my reply had vanished!
I keep having to sign in again and again!
OK I take the hint!

Hiya Ray.
Lovely to hear from you! The problem I have is that I only use my mobile to post, so don't see others till I press send. Did that make any sense at all? Probably not as my mind races far faster than typing with one finger can manage.
Anyway, I only discovered the Community a few months back but so glad I did, as it really lifted me out of the doldrums. I usually inhabit the H&N forum as my fella is a laryngectomee and I've made some fantastic new friends there, exactly the same as here. Don't know about you but I've always been hopeless with sleeping, so coming here stops me pestering normal folk who sleep at 3 am.
I did see your post about your teeth having a near dual with the olive stone. I laughed at that so thank you. I've got the news on in the background - not a great deal to chortle at there.

Hi Ray, Oh not just me either then!
Can you believe I have signed in 5 times already tonight. Hope you all get a sleep!
With all the chat about heatwaves etc, I was putting the bins out about 11pm and it was pouring! My husband usually does it but had his Covid jag on Wednesday and has not been well since! Oh, and we go on holiday on Sunday! Typical! He still has a couple of days to feel better!
Im off to do my jigsaws now! So it’s good night from me and I’m still wide awake.
Love Annette x
Have a great time at the Blue Dolphin, Annette. I was watching the local news earlier and Brid and Scarborough were featured - I immediately thought of you.
Stay with the jigsaws but happy holiday time to look forward to very soon. Hope hubby gets better soon xx

Me again Ray.
Your mention of Japanese artists took me back several years.
My eldest daughter has visited Japan twice. Before she went the first time, she took lessons to learn enough of the lingo to get by as she was going by herself. Whilst there, she went to two concerts and as she was already deep into the music, was able to sing along with the rest of the crowd. The Japanese are crazy about their music and really get into the swing of thoroughly enjoying it. I can't remember the names of the bands she saw (Malice Miser?) but when she came back we found a YouTube video of one of the concerts. It was terrific and I became a fan too! Try as we might, we couldn't pick her out of the audience even though she was probably the only English blonde present.
I've got a lot of DVDs she burned for me, so rather than wracking my brains trying to remember the names, I'll go rooting in my music collection instead, otherwise I'll go crackers with frustration.
Now that's your fault Ray! Only kidding, I'll probably play some tomorrow (today) if I get time.

I'd have loved to visit Japan when I was younger and fitter. Work only took me to the USA and Europe. I'm not sure what happens to catheter bags if going by air. I've seen you tube videos of crisp bags bursting as the cabin pressure drops to 8000ft equiv. pressure during cruise. Not an experiment I want to try! The Brilliant Green date from the late 1990s in Japan. I also listen to Band Maid and Fate Gear (heavy rock), Upiko, plus Glim Spanky (unusual female voice) and the now disbanded 'Girlfriend.' There are many others of course. In several years of listening to Japanese pop and rock music I've only fathomed out one word:私 (Watashi) = I (as in me/myself). Must be a slow learner. Ray x
