Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Debs, that's the worst one, I mean cyst and colon aren't nice, but not a patch on the endo, all them forms you have to do, that awful spray, and what looks like an operation theatre, makes you nervous, then they tell you to relax and swallow something as big as an AA battery, not fun, and you can't and don't want to speak in case it makes things worse

Anyway Debs I  hope your results were good my friend

    love Eddie and family xx

  • Amitrypteline helped my neuropathy, wouldn't have got any sleep without it at times

  • It was surreal.  I called him 'little bro'

I'd forgotten that I looked like our dad.  When chatting, it was funny referring to 'our dad'.

61 years to become a big brother!

    Thanks for your message.

  • Not bad, yet … Eddie. Been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and they’ve taken biopsies for Barrett’s …. If it comes back positive, which they seem to think it might, then I will have to have said battPrayy inserted every 6 months. Deep joy. Never mind, I’m staying positive, I now know what the problem is and am on medication that should help PrayThumbsup

Onwards and upwards, my friend xxx

  • Hello.
Welcome to the forum. I am so sorry to read what you are going through.
This is a great group, and there’s always someone to talk to.
    Sending hugs. x

  • Awww Debs, I hope their wrong about the Barrett's."they are sometimes", lol, and being on the best meds is great news, I've had a hiatus hernia for a few years and it's not a problem, I did have an epigastrict hernia repaired pretty quickly after diagnosis, as they can be serious if left alone, positive is half the battle my friend

    love Eddie xx
