Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

I might need to be reminded of that one day, but not today my friend
.
Thank you for your good wishes, and we always have a great time at the cottage and it may not be as warm as Turkey, but the view from the front door is fab as is the water to swim in. PS the island in the distance is Bryher, Alwayshope's, Peter's family home.

Morning Eddie and everyone
Safe trip today for you Eddie-what a long journey, but I bet it’s worth every second when you get there..what a beautiful place, though I’ve never been and only seen it in pictures and on the tv.
I’m glad to see you have found Odette1fa42a0 at last Jann! How are you doing today Odette? You are at a really difficult point in the process with tests and scans before you get any answers and we all will understand how hard that is. What I’ve learned over the years is just to take one day at a time, and one appointment at a time. Try not to be thinking too far ahead, because when you don’t have all the information you need our minds can make up the rest and things are rarely as bad as our minds would have us believe. All we do is frighten ourselves and give ourselves worries that we don’t need.
You’ll probably be out at your exercise class now Gill…do you have a reward afterwards like coffee and cake??
I’m off to get more coffee, but unfortunately no cake!
Sarah xx
Morning Sarah
We're rewarding ourselves right now after exercise class - double poached egg teacake for OH, and bacon and mushroom for me, washed down with coffee. Then it's home and some quiz shows on the telly. I'm very happy today, as he's gained weight after his hospital stint last month. Yay!
Have a great day all xxx
Oh, that’s all good news today Gill-excellent to hear-and a lovely breakfast always brings a smile to my face. Good news about putting on a bit of weight too, which must be really difficult in your hubby’s situation. I’ve been waiting for my OH to get home from the hospital and the gastro chap.
It’s like Groundhog Day in this house…same problem as I had a couple of years ago with gallstones in my bile duct and a need for surgery. First of all it’s a tube with camera down the throat with a camera and an attempt to remove the gallstones. I had to have that procedure done twice as it didn’t work the first time, so I know it’s not pleasant! Then a wait for the gallbladder to come out, but if they can get the stones out the pain will go which would be good.
So, no going back to work today-we’ll be sat on the sofa this afternoon with hot water bottles on backs and legs! But a happy day for us knowing that there will be surgery to sort this out-the first consultant was really rude and arrogant and said no, so it was worth persevering and going to PALS to complain.
Sarah xx
Good afternoon Sarah.
That's great news about your hubby, and hopefully a successful surgery for when it happens. Crikey, you've both been through so much but clearly tenacious in your approaches. Good for you. No need for the consultant's rudeness though, and I doubt he'd have appreciated that response if your positions had been reversed. Anyway, with the amount of money they'll be on, a cordial demeanour should be drummed into them as part of their training.
Oh I'm forever on pins about hubby's weight as it's up and down, especially when he's not been well. We don't have scales at home, mainly because I'd be forever getting him on them to check his weight fluctuations, but then he might become as paranoid as I am about it, so probably best not to get any. Lordy!
I'm going to join you in the water bottle club and buy a couple this weekend - his feet get nearly as cold as his hands, so they're next on the list.
Keep comfy and cosy and look forward to the weekend xxx
We're off to Turkey on Monday, so now I'm in over drive with packing and getting ready. Been putting it off all week. X
Enjoy your break. I'm so jealous.
Steve (SteveCam)
Have a great time Odette, you deserve it sweetheart. Bet your boys will be going wild with excitement xxx
