Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hello Sergi  (

Now that's a cracking idea from  why not join us on the Prostate Group - we are a great bunch (I would say that) -here's the link you need:

    Prostate cancer forum

I look forward to "meeting" you again there.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Eddie, in my younger days I used to go to the pubs and "paint the town red!"

That's not quite the same is it?

  • Hi Steve and I appreciate your witticisms, even if others don't appear to.

Here's an idea, get in touch with a failed comedian, say Brian Conley, and offer to write material to ressurect his flagging career. You could earn some coin. Or maybe not, as he never fell into the category of comedian in the first place. I've probably upset B.C. fans now.

Hope you're having a good day xxx

  • Ah

You have the use of initials wrong -thus

    B C = before cancer.

    A D = after diagnosis.

(it's being on the Prostate group with that  that makes us all comedians!!!! Innocent)

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Brian and thanks for the heads up on the 'correct' use of those initials - I'll remember that as it's very clever and apt.Thumbsup

Steve's a card and I can imagine him entertaining over on the Prostate group. Hey, for one awful minute, when your post jingled on my moby, I thought you were going to lambast me and reveal Brian C was related to your good self! Sweat smile phew...

Here's hoping you're having a good day too, Brian xxx

  • Gill, 'witticisms' is a good word!  Me and Brian Conley are great mates (that's twice in as many posts he has a mention).  You mentioned fans in the plural!!

    As Brian  said:

    B C = before cancer

At the end of the season I hope it stands for 'before Chelsea'. You never know.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  • Hi Eddie, yes I’ve been on the chat groups since my diagnosis in May 2023. I have found the groups so helpful particularly when I was first diagnosed. I hover around mostly now to see if I can reassure or help people following my experience but I have to say I am hooked on your group here! You all bring a smile to my face it’s a great group and even though I don’t have any sleep problems I like to be nosey and see what you all have going on. My endometrial cancer journey started after years of problems and finally a diagnosis. However I have not followed the same treatment path as most as I have a favourable genetic mutation which has meant after my hysterectomy I had no treatment but four monthly scans and examinations which cause a huge amount of anxiety every time but I’m sure you’re familiar with that feeling! After my diagnosis my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer with secondaries in her pelvis so it was a really tough time for the whole family. I live in Wimbledon with my 2nd husband and have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren…

Love to you all in this group and keep chatting!

  • Gill, if it wasn't for my balance, I could 'juggle my balls'.

I seem to be on a high today!  Makes up for all the 'down days'.

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • You never fail! I've just guffawed at your post Steve. LOH looked up from his paper at me as if to say "What's she on?"

I'm aboard with before Chelsea, whoever it is!

Give my regards to Mr Conley on your next night out... duck when the ale gets launched during his 'turn'.

  • I like a good guffaw.

Have you been reading the 'Beano'???
