Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Gilly, I had a little scare earlier, but ok now, after a lovely day at the hospice, followed by pub painting and supper curtesy of J&J, but being out for 12 hours is tiring.
Glad to hear you've had a lovely day, so you put LOH through the mill today and I'm sure I'm confident he passed with flying colours, and maybe too tired to focus100% on his birthday singers, will there be an alternative exercise group LOH can join?, or is it up to you both to carry on a regime at home in some way.
Sorry my friend, I don't know who Leek is, but can emphasise with leaving your exercise group after such a long time, though I still go to the place I did the exercise classes and bump into the guys from time to time...
love Eddie and family xx
Hi again Jann. No, it's Deb who lives in Wales, although she's from Essex originally It can get a bit of a muddle here sometimes, as conversations move quickly and it's hard to keep up. Especially if you've had a few glasses of vino!
Well it certainly sounds lovely where you're staying and I hope you're having the best time, but no hon, like Deb I'm my fella's carer, and we met on the Head and Neck cancer forum. She's lovely and we've become very good friends, along with several others. That's the only thing good that cancer does, it brings like minded people together to share their experiences but also to chat about everything else. That's why we're so glad you joined us, so you too can talk about other things and get your mind away from the other stuff.
That was really good advice you gave to Odette earlier, but I've got a feeling she's in the land of nod, hopefully. Hugs xxx
Just read you post - YE GODS what a great man & a fighter you are

Hello Superman! I've pinched that moniker from Jann but it suits you.
Aw I'm glad you've had another good day but don't tire yourself out, like we did at exercise group. I am gutted it's coming to an end as we've got attached to the other members - there's even an Annette so I'll never forget her name! Yes, Jenny told us we're eligible to sign up for a sixteen week course, also run by Yorkshire Cancer Research. It's much nearer home too, so I'm busy working on LOH that it'll be great to improve his mobility. He's pretty lazy but I'll persuade him. I'm going to get thank you cards and chocs for Jenny and her team, and the girls on reception when it's our last day, as they've all been fantastic with LOH and made us both so welcome. So, all in all he's had a nice birthday and we topped it off with fish and chips for our dinner. Oh, Leek is a new poster who was having a bit of a rough time lately. You did speak to her, I think, but then you do to do many I'm not surprised you can't remember them all.
If you haven't done so already, have a restful night when you do go up. Hugs to you and yours xxx
Awww thanks Jann, but I'm just a guy trying to make the most of an awful situation, something we all share.
My partner, Sheila; introduced me to pub painting, it's exactly as described, an art group who meet up, mostly in pubs, to paint, in acrylics, though today's was slightly different as we used illuminous paint, which is terrible to paint with.
Best wishes to you and your loved ones too my friend,
love Eddie and family xx
Hi Jannb Welcome, you are spot on with your assessment of our friends Gill & Eddie!
I hope you are enjoying your Spanish Holliday. My husband and I have had to cancel our holidays this year but we have started looking at the Christmas Markets in the UK for a break in Nov/Dec. If you look at the top of any post you will see Jannb (etc) 32 minutes ago replied to GillH. That is how you know who is replying to who, Both usernames are in Green. It can be a bit confusing at first for a while but you will soon get the hang of it! If you look at the top of my reply it will say anndanv ??mins ago replied to Jannb7d8aa! Sometimes it can be difficult to keep track but stick at it, it is worth it!
I hope most of you are asleep now!
Love Annette x
Hi Annette.
As you can see I'm still awake, but seriously considering trying for some sleep as I can be very silly at this lark.
Thank you for what you said to Jann, and she's such a lovely lass too. A lot of new faces have joined recently but the more the merrier.
I love your idea of going round the Christmas markets, and there'll be loads of tasty food on offer. Love it! We didn't have Christmas last year as LOH was in hospital and I was on my tod, so didn't bother. I spent NYE nursing a mug of hot chocolate. Lol! It'll be different this year, fingers crossed.
Anyway lass, I'm going to put my ghost stories on and hopefully you're back on form, after your accident, to do your jigsaws. Night night and hugs to you and Vince xxx
Thanks Gill, I hope you manage to get some sleep and we can maybe ask others when they are awake if they have any recommendations for Christmas Markets worth a visit in the UK! Sleep well!
Love Annette x
