Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Oooh the comfy chair, a wonderful place to go after a long day, to have a cuppa and some yummies, enjoy, and hopefully come the 20th, the surgery realises who their dealing with, and the consequences of not agreeing to your very reasonable request. XX

  • Hey Eddie, I certainly do treat myself in this chair as I've just polished off two buns and a cuppa. Lovely jubbley. It's the little things that bring a good feeling, although LOH's neb has got several kinks in the tube coming from the machine and has made a right racket. Something to sort out tomorrow. And on that scintillating note we'll watch telly till he climbs the wooden hill xxx (not me though)

  • Thank you so much it does help to talk, my husband said he will take my phone away if I keep googling so I have made my mind up to not do so.

  • Good to hear my friend, and why shouldn't you treat yourself, oooh 2 buns, well they do come in packets of 2 and they never taste as good a day after do theyYum, and neb's are interesting, and it's very important, they function perfectly, and I'm sure you know, but if you gently warm up the compressor tube before use, you'll get fewer kinks. Sheila and I are off to walk the dogs, then home and bed, so why no going to bed for you my friend?.

    HuggingHugging, Eddie and Sheila xx

  • I'm not tired Eddie after the late afternoon snooze. My own fault, and the chair's, of course. Thanks for the great tip on removing the kinks as when I do it, it's always cold and springs right back. You're a minefield of information! Enjoy your walk with the hounds and let them bark and yap to their hearts' content xxx

  • Your very welcome my friend, and it's good Dr Google is being consigned to the bin, where he belongs, and good on hubby seeing the dangers of Googling, it really should come with a health warning!, I hope it's been a better day for you, and you've managed to do a couple of enjoyable things

    Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Any time my friend, that's what we're here for, anyway whoopsy and dingbat have had a walk, and we're home and all the girls are in bed, and I hope to follow soon.

    love Eddie and family xx

  • You do right, and my eyes are starting to get a bit tired. Love the names for the dogs Dog2 xx

You gave good advice to our new friend about Dr Google - I used to frighten myself silly in the early days and imagined every grim scenario going. Lesson learned and I just use it for tips, general info and recipes now, gleaning all the medical stuff from the sites you also mentioned. I'll let you get off to get your head down Eddie, and I'm going to try for the same, so night to you, Sheila and the dogs and hugs xxx

  • Just to be clear the dogs real names are Poppy and Cassie, I'm struggling to stay awake my friend. XXX

  • Lol. I knew they were fond nicknames. Will you get some sleep Eddie, you silly man? Night night xxx
