Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Amazing news! You must be so relieved, getting an offer. Now you can really start to firm up your plans and move forward.

I hope it all works out!

    xxxx Kate

  • Thanks Kate,I’m bitterly disappointed at having no money for a nice place but at least I’ll be moving forward.xx

  • Hi Sian.  I hope you feel a lot better tomorrow my lovely - you said there was a lot of folk about when you went shopping, so it'll have been germs ahoy.

I'm the opposite from yourself and Geoff, as weekends here means no appointments, unless a trip to A&E rears up.  And the thought of mother putting in an ultra rare appearance just fills me with horror - that's a polite way of putting it...

Anyway, take something for it and try for an early night hon, as a good kip might help.

Love and hugs to you and Darren xxx Pill

  • Put a lottery ticket on tomorrow Jane - I'm waving my magic wand at you again xxx

  • Thanks Gill.  Yes, there are too many people around and also we had our eyes tested this week so I could have picked it up there too along with the hospital on Tuesday See no evil.

Dosed up and off to bed now hoping to have a good sleep.  Lots of love to all Two heartsxx

  • Night night lovey, sleep well xxx

  • Hi Eddie I was really feeling a bit lost and frustrated at not being able to sleep!

  • It was quite easy, a couple of local jewellers and an art gallery were closing down so I bought quite a few things.

  • Hi Laddo, it's not unusual to have broken sleep following a cancer diagnosis, and why wouldn't it, and I wish I could give you the answers to a good night's sleep but we are all individual, I found learning to relax through a psychologist worked for me, a free course at local cancer charity, best wishes with your FLOT chemo and surgery to follow, and hope your final cycles finish the job.

Thank you Dub for what you wrote. I'm sorry you have similar feelings as me about the weekends but it's good you do have someone. I'm guessing Darren is your hubby? Sorry, I'm getting to know lots of people here at the same time so am trying to remember lots of names and circumstances, but my memory isn't great.  Slight smile

You're very kind saying such lovely things about my youtube video. Thank you, comments like that always lift my spirits and push me to continue making videos.

I hope you have a happy weekend.
