Hi

I have just had my first dose of chemotherapy  and am having weird electric shock like symptoms throughout my body almost hourly since I'm home accompanied by sweating profusely has any body else experienced this

  • Hi and welcome to the community. Chemo can have different effects on people, but any adverse effects need to be reported. You should have been given a chemo record book with a contact number to call if you have any worries. In these strange times we are in, the lines may not be open, and so If you cannot contact the hospital, I would strongly recommend you call NHS 111. Not trying to worry you, but high temperatures need to be investigated. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

Hi well I ended up in hospital for 3 weeks with neuro toxicity and sepsis but have now been given a date for further chemotherapy which is the same as before but a reduced dosage over a longer time I am going to give it a try but am scared as I almost died during that bad reaction

  • Hi , that was some reaction and very scary I can imagine for you. I am glad that you’ve returned to tell us that you survived !

I have noticed that these were your first posts and the only group that you’ve joined. I wondered if you had found the bowel group. I will put the link below for you to get there quicker.

I was thinking that as you mention you feel scared or apprehensive about starting chemo again that talking and getting support from others on the same chemo drug might help. I have been on immunotherapy and I’m about to restart next week and I’ve found it useful to post in my cancer group (melanoma) to get a bit of support while waiting.

    best wishes

    Take care KT
