Query about entitlement to benefit

Welcome to the forum, though I'm sorry you need to be here. 

The simple answer is, right now, no you're not entitled to anything benefits wise. If you're in England, you might be entitled to free prescription medication while you're going through treatment though. You'd need to speak to your GP about it as they have the medical exemption certificate forms. You fill in half then return it to the GP and they fill in the rest and send it off.

ESA and PIP are the two relevant benefits. However for ESA you can't be getting sick pay or working much/at all. You also can't have more than 16k in savings, or be getting income from any other sources. While for PIP you need to be made disabled by your condition regarding your ability to care for yourself and/or your mobility.

If you leave your job, then you might then be entitled to housing benefit if you rent, and council tax benefit. But it'll depend on your circumstances like if you have a partner, kids, etc.

If you give the Macmillan Line a call in the morning they will be able to put you onto talk with an advisor whom you can talk this through with and they can maybe tell you what if any benefits that you can claim.  08088080000.
