Hi all

My mum got her first chemotherapy session last Tuesday after finding out she has stage 4 incurable lung cancer back at the end of April. she felt a bit sick for around 6 days, loss of appetite and fatigue but has now overcome this a week in.

She is awaiting the go ahead to also start Immunotherapy combined with the chemo. I have tried to find peoples experiences online of this new treatment but am having no luck, I can only really find American sites. I know everyone reacts differently to treatment and not one person is the same, but does anyone on here have any personal experience with it either themselves or a loved one? And how it affected them with symptoms and what the affect was on the cancer?

thanks

  • Hi

Although I have no experience with immunotherapy to share with you, could I suggest that you join and post your question in the lung cancer group. I'm sure you'll find the members of that group very helpful and willing to tell you about their experiences if they've had this type of treatment.

Clicking on the link I've created will take you there.

thanks, im struggling to use this site find it difficult to search for things so thank you!

  • Glad I could help

I meant to add to my reply to you that when you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your mum's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

The site can feel a bit daunting to start off with you but is basically broken down into different cancer groups or an information section. If there's anything you're looking for in particular just let me know and I'll see if I can find it for you.
