I just wanted to say hello to you all. I’m waiting for mastectomy in January, going for reconstruction ( probably an implant, but still not very sure). Still in shock after the diagnose and trying to come to terms with it all. I’m 43, based in London. Happy to connect with others:)

Sorry just realised there had been a lot more messages after your first one! Have you had your surgery? If so hope it went well :-)

    Hi Sarjabas,

I know how it feels... I also started with 'an innocent' looking. small lump, untill the MRI.

Had the mastectomy with implant reconstruction and sentinel node biopsy over a week ago. I am positively surprised how easy it has been for me so far... The recovery is going super fast and I was lucky not to have too much pain (although I appreciate it is not always that case). I still have some discomfort but manage without any medication and the arm exercises really help, I can notice a judge difference every day. This is assuming you're having some nodes removed as well, which may not be the case! Strangely enough emotionally I feel much better than I did before the surgery.

Waiting for the pathology result next week. That is my only worry now.

All the best for you, lots of hugsx
