My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

Good luck Dot and Pene Lope   - Napoleon will be going as well to represent all the lovely penguins on here who have lost loved ones.  he's a bit tired at the  moment as he did some training last night - he walked twice round the bed -  so he will probably need to be carried round the course.

Poor Napoleon Sue - what a task master you are.  Dot sorry you are still up to your neck in builders.  It is the Pontefract RFL I am doing tomorrow so I will watch out for 'Penelope' in his pink ribbon.  I will be carrying my little penguin with me as well.  Mine never had a name so it can be pink or blue on demand.

Patricia I'm hoping your power wasn't of for too long the other night.  I also hope your night shift treats you gently over this weekend.

Helen, enjoy the match later.  Are you going to be able to do a little more birthday celebrating at the same time?  I have my lift organised to the rugby club for 5.  I am really excited about it now.  I got shirts for all the family printed up in Chris's memory so I will be wearing mine later.

Is Judi back from her travels yet - can't wait to hear all about it.

Rosemary hope you enjoyed your baileys nightcap last night.  I have become quite used to being in this house on my own now so give it time.  I must admit though that I am looking forward to having Bex & Dex move in with me for a while.  I will probably regret saying that in a few weeks though!!!

Lesley I'm glad you had a good night last night.  I got Germany in the sweep.

There is no sign of my bench yet and after the farse on Thursday I don't think I will settle until it gets here now.  Think I best go do something constructive to pass the time.  Take care everyone.  Ailsa xxx

had a fab meal, thanks - ate far too much, and enjoyed the company of my two lovely daughters.

I'v just bought a silver helium  balloon to carry tomorrow - needed something as a marker for the rest of my friends.  napoleon will be bedecked with pink ribbons, and my label will acknowledge all my friends on mac who have lost loved ones, as well as Alan.   Really looking forward to it now - my biggest stress is parking the car!!!!

Ailsa, hun, your penguin must have a name -  anonymity is bad in the penguin world.   napoleon asks  if he is a royal penguin, in which case Philip might be appropriate. Please let napoleon know your choice of name, as he is getting anxious.

ailsa, if you find our dottee and Pene Lope, please give her a HUGE hug from me -  she is one lovely lady who needs a bit of TLC at the momeant.

Manda - yoga? Good grief, girl - calm down. Lesley, your evening sounded great - photo please. Lynne, hope dad starts to get more positive news and results - poor love, he has really been through the mill, bless him.

going to clean the car this afternoon - will need shovels to muck it out, i think!

    take care, my friends

    sue xx

Evening All,  I would like to wish you all good luck for tomorrow at the race for life, i wish there was one still near me. Also i hope you all enjoyed the football tonight i am not that keen in watching it who won? Gayle i hope your cold getting better i also liked the night nurse when i had the cold and sore throat a few weeks ago. Well i had a night out last night it was to raise funds for Kim's friends wee girls playgroup it was a good night but don't know if i will ever get use to going to these things myself. It is so hard, may be i need to do it more as not been out much to that kind of thing since Derek died, i can't believe it's 18 months tomorrow since he died. I forgot how much time a kitten takes up he never stops and it's taken me ages to type this post as he wants to do it for me. I am sure he has growing since he came last Sun. I will try and get some photos onto facebook soon. Lynne not long till the fund raising now looking forward to it. You never know i might bring the kitten for your raffle if he doesn't give me peace. Looking forward to hearing about Judi's hols and of course some photos. Sending hugs to everyone. Fiona xxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning all.  Well it's raining for my race - what's that about??  Nevermind.  I've done it in worse weather.  Soggy tutus might be odd though.  Sue I have taken your advice and decided Philip is a fitting name for my penguin but as he is quite small and cute I will use his pet name - Pip.  I will watch out for Dottee & 'Penelope'.  I will put some photos on POA later along with some I have from the Wakefield race in May.

Helen I hope your pressie was lovely last night.  I had a good time at the rugby club watching the football.  I would have preferred a better result but...onwards & upwards to the next game on Friday.  The shirts were great.  Lynne how was the bbq?  Hope you had a good time.  Very well done getting the tickets for the raffle.  That will really boost ticket sales.

Fiona I can't wait to see photos of the kitten.  Take care of yourself today.  I think you would find that going out got easier if you are able to do it a little more often.  I do, although it will never be the same.  For a while now I have been quite badly missing going out and my old social life.  I haven't figured out what to do about it yet as it is difficult for me to find opportunities.  I have gone with work a few times but that is not the life I miss.  I am hoping to take advantage of having Becky living with me for a while as we tend to like the same kind of nights out, with a bit of live music.  We'll see.

My bench finally arrived yesterday.  It is an arbour so it is quite a hidy hole for me to sit and read in.  My Dad and I managed to put it together moments before I had to go out for the match.  I will be putting the plaque for Chris in it later after the RFL.

Have a good day everyone.  Take care.  Ailsa xxx
