My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

Omg Sue I didn't realise you had those kind of problems. I hope the injections work for you.  Having a few extra days off work is a bonus but it is at a pretty high price. Hope the uss goes well.

Rosemary well done on getting through today, good news for Sam but so hard for you. I can understand the escaping to the bathroom to let go, only place in our house sometimes xxx

Mum in law has diverticulitis and manages it so sure Sam will if it turns out to be that x

Judi sneaking on at work, how naughty!!

Ailsa I am sorry I missed the chance to toast our anniversary last night, I m only on cordial tonight but will toast with that xxx It has been such a mixed year but made easier by this thread and all you lovely friends as we have become over the time. I look forward to our next get togethers and carrying on with all our journeys xx Who know what the next 12 months will bring xxx

Hope everyone has had a good day

Thanks for the kind words girls - and the Baileys Lynne, just pouring another now!  It was silly of me to get in such a stew, I think it was more that I couldn't tell anyone else and was so glad to have you lot that I can tell anything to.  All the way home I kept thinking "why couldn't it have been the same for Steve?" but that aint going to help anything is it?  More Baileys!  Thanks for the texts too, much appreciated xxxx

Sue!  I do hope it isn't rheumatoid arthritis and although the injections don't sound nice I hope they work.  Have you tried any herbal supplements or acupuncture?  Cider vinegar is a good anti inflammatory and I have been using Green Lipped Mussel supplement (Healthy Direct.co.uk) for the horse for ages now and it really helps him keep going - it is for humans too.  Definitely get someone to do massage for you and use "hot mitts", oh and caster oil packs - a bit messy but can have really good results for lots of different problems.

Oh my goodness, I have just put Sam's VW Polo on Auto Trader (long story as usual but she has just bought another mini and I wouldn't let her give it to the dealer for a silly amount so said we would sell privately) and someone just phoned me already!  They were in Luton and might come down and see it!  Ooer, not ready for this, scary stuff with genuine people and real money and things.

Off to the Baileys again, and bed, see you all tomorrow, lots and lots of love xxxxxxx

    Hello everyone,

Well its been a busy day with the posting.  Bad Judes sciving work, Sue not good news but hopefully the horse pills will work tee hee!!!  One of your difficult days down now for this week and like you say you get the added bonus of being off work a couple of days.

Rosemary, you had a tough day and I can imagine the terrible emotions going through you during it.  So glad it wasn't "bad" news and thats good about the car!  Hope you drive a hard bargain with them!

Y&Y thanks for letting us know about John Edwards.  I am so looking forward to it and that is great your friend got picked.  Lynne needs to keep reminding me not to forget the tickets lol as I am panicking I do.  I did a check on multimap last night and I am sure Lynne you will be over the moon to know that it is only 1 minute walk to Harvey Nichols yay!!  We need to sort out what we are doing about dinner - any penguins joining us?

Helen/Ailsa - who would have believed that is one year the thread has been running and for how important it has become to all of our lives.  I liked what you said about the next 12 months.  It will be so interesting to see where we all are and what we are doing - lets hope we all have happier more settled lives and I am sure we will with the support of each other.  Like I said on FB - don't we all wish life was like the John Lewis advert (always makes me cry), but it isn't and I just have to accept that.  Had a very busy day today so no time for thinking and I am shattered.  Think I will try to go to bed before 11 tonight and hopefully sleep.

    Night penguins

Look you lot THEY ARE FOR HUMANS it just happens that I give them to the horse! DOH!!!!!  And wasn't Sam sweet on FB, bless her she still hasn't a clue about the memories it brought back but knows it was enough that we were worried about what we might find out.  She's really happy today as the exchange of contracts has finally happened and they complete on Monday - bless her again she took us all out for a meal tonight to celebrate and say thank you for all the help and support.  Have to admit to having a few glasses of wine and getting a little merry - sobered up now of course.

The car people haven't been back to me, but then they were in Luton so I don't think they realised when they phoned how far away we are from them, never mind it has three weeks to run in the advert so hopefully we will get some interest, I think I've priced it realistically - anyway someone can darned well come and buy it.

Hoping all is well with everyone, will go and  put the kettle on if anyone fancies popping in for coffee xxxxx

Hi everyone.  I have been having a bit of trouble getting on the onternet again but a bit of gentle persuasion seems to have worked.  I hope everyone who is going to the John Edwards show tomorrow ahs a great time.  I can't wait to hear if any of you get messages - thanks Ying & Yang for telling us about your experience at the show - and feel free to drop in here anytime - no apologies please.

Sue I'm sorry to hear about the osteoarthritis and I hope you find the injections (& the horse pills) help.  You seem to be having a challenging week so lots of ((((((hugs)))))) coming your way.

How are you Patricia?  Some of your advice for Alfie about paperwork and the like reminded me of how far we have all come and some of the things we have had to tackle this past year or more.  I'm really proud of all that we have done and I know our loved ones are as well.  Alfie - if there is anything you need to ask please feel you can.  You can always use a personal message if this forum seems at bit public for some things.

Rosemary that is such good news from Sam's colonoscopy.  I haven't been on FB since Monday so I will go on there next.  Good luck with selling Sam's car.  I haven't checked how far Luton is from you but if it is any guide I drove to Scaraborough with Stu on Sunday so that he could buy a car he had seen.  It is a 2 hour drive to get there.  He bought the car and then we had lunch on the front so hopefully you will hear from the Luton people again.  It is scary doing these things isn't it.  I was never any good at selling cars etc - that was always one of the things Chris did.

Hi Judi - sorry about the disappearing post but you got your own back by nipping on at work.  How are you doing with your flat and the damp work?

I have done more on the garage but mostly I am painting walls, floor & ceiling for now so only boring stuff to report about that.

Gayle I hope you managed to get off for some sleep a bit earlier last night.  Enjoy the show tomorrow.

Fiona - are you still full of cold?  I hope you are okay and maybe getting over it.

Helen it will be interesting to see what happens to each of us over the next 12 months.  I find it hard to think that far ahead but I hope that it includes several meetings with everyone on here.

Lynne I hope your solo shift went okay today!!  Well I really should get off to bed.  Take care everyone.  Ailsa xx
