"That branded day of the week" - that twists xx

  • Just wrote this after hearing of a friend's experience.

    I CRY TONIGHT

I cry tonight for you and for me
For you, the ones who loved and watched Death prowl,
Dispensing disease and freezing hearts with fear.

I cry tonight for those of us ,
Who stood before the shadow, helpless and bereft
Listening to the shallow breaths and the muted cries for help.

I cry tonight for him and her,
Though fearful and chafed, faced the final call
In dignified humility, a testimony of a life that was worth loving.

I spend a lot more time on my laptop nowadays........

There is no Groupon Deal on grief, no price drops on the pain.

The cost is higher than before

    And set to rise again.

I wish you never purchase this, the deal I got for free.

I will not ever pass it on

    Though now it's costing me.

  • I feel very touched by this poem, Limbo. Thank you x

  • Yes, Eryn, totally agree! Such inspiring people! I am not an artist myself, well, I am not into poetry or art very much myself, but I do appreciate it very much!

I don't like the term "moving on" because it sounds to me like we are leaving our loved ones and the life we had with them behind. I like the term "moving forward" as it implies that, while life goes on, our loved ones are still with us in our hearts and minds.

Thanks Jane - to be honest I am trying to direct my anger towards spam emails. It seems to be helping very slightly !

    Thanks, Eryn.

I guess commercialism and the internet go hand in hand, but there are spaces like this where the opposite is true.

A bit of a paradox, 'Tinternet Smile
