Time to update the blog, it's been a while. I've just been plodding along and working my way through the last phase of the treatment alongside looking after the holiday lets, visiting family, and family visiting me. Generally just living life.

The hospital phoned me the day before I was due to start cycle 3 saying I needed to come in for another blood test first thing in the morning. So after shuffling round arrangements to sort out childcare, my husband and I went in first thing.
The problem was with my neutrophil levels. They should be at least 1.5 (not sure of the units here!) but on Tuesday they were only 0.8. (Pre-chemo my level was 2.2; before chemo#2 it was 1.8, and it is something that gets lower with each cycle so I did wonder...
First full day without catheter. I have to remind myself not to do too much or walk too fast. The nurse said it easy to remember when the catheter is there to remind one but easily forgotten once it is out. She's right. I found myself pounding up the road to the shop and had to force myself to go slow. I've always been a fast walker so it is hard but I'm also a good nagger so I will try to remember to nag myself. I saw a pharmacist practitioner today (as my doctor was fully booked up) and he was really helpful.
I told him that the nausea had continued for a long time last cycle and he is going to get me two more kinds of anti-emitic (levomepromazine and cyclizine) to try in addition to the other three (metaclopramide, ondansetron and aprepitant). He said 'play with them' and see what works best! I was previously taking the anti-emetics just long enough to get through the wretching stage (3-4 days), but this...
Went to hospital this morning to have catheter removed, it went fine. I then had to hang around for an hour drinking fluids until I'd done two samples then an ultrasound to see if I'd emptied my bladder properly. It all went well. Very little pain as yet and fully emptied bladder. Now I just have to wait for my next appointment to find out if the cancer was invasive or has spread. About 2-3weeks. Wish it was over.

I have recently been diagnosed with 2 brain tumours, one of which is a stage 2 Glioma, and I am waiting to start treatment. This is the first time I can honestly say I have been ill, and it has to be something as devastating as it is.
I actually had a seizure back in May which was in the middle of the night, and if one of my Leonberger dogs hadn't woke my husband up I may not even be here.
I suppose everyone says this but why me?
