    A little confirmation

Well Dads Macmillan nurse called me this morning (I had met with her the 1st time she seen dad and asked her to keep me informed as I wasnt able to be there every time she came, which she very kindly did) I told her my fears about how dad looked awful when I seen him the other day, she said that he looked fine but could be making himself appear to be ok for her benefit which makes sense because after she left he fell asleep 3 times in a hour so she thinks thats what it is.  I told her my fears about...

    Transplant success????

Hello, well thats the stem cell transplant over, and to be honest its a bit of a strange feeling!! My part went exceptionally well, my sister needed 5,000,000 stem cells and after my not so painful GSCF injections (the injections were not painful, the bone aching and all that went along with it however was!! Although i felt better to be going through a little bit of pain on her behalf!) i was able to provide 18,000,000!! To much for them to store, so they had to cut my time on the machine short!...

    My mother

My wonderful wonderful mother has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. She found out last Wednesday whilst I was away on holiday and told me once I had got back.

She is 78 years old and has made up her mind already not to have any treatment. Last year she got me to make a 'living will' for her with me as the executor. She told me in July this year when I went to visit that she was tired and didn't want to get any older. She told me what was in her will, what songs she wanted at her funeral and what...

Wittering on and on and on.......

Just thought i'd do an update on what's been happening. Ian went in for his chemo last Monday and has been in bed ever since. It has really taken it out of him. Up till Monday morning he was able to do some small jobs around the house meaning he had some quality of living. But once I brought him home on Tuesday all he could manage was to just get into bed. I knew he really wasn't feeling well when he asked me if I would do his meds for him. This was a bad sign as he never ever asks me to do...

    Good news. Sutent is working!

Just got back from that interminable hospital waiting! (Surely someone could design better systems.)

However this time it was good news. For what seems like the first time since Christmas, we've come away from the hospital feeling better.

Tony was diagnosed with kidney cancer, "a massive tumour" (15cm) in February & had his left kiney removed at the end of March. He was recommended for a trial of Sorafenib but by the time he was due to start, 'seedlings' in his lungs had started to grow and...
