Less pain today but still enough.... and less fluid or smell from the wound so maybe the antibiotics are doing their stuff.
Nurse at the walkin centre did the same routine of picking off sluff and chrystalised bits as much as my pain barrier would allow. then prontosan soaking and more debriding. then bandage up. More this time to try and stop the xupad and iodoflex pushing downwards.
tomorrow i have appointment…
So having been to work yesterday and decided, and agreed with my boss, i am now taking loads of time off to get the leg better. i need to address the problem with the lymphoedema or it aint gonna get any better. And yesterday at work the wound got more painful as the day went on. last night i went to the walk in centre and they gave me a course of antibiotics and an appointment to go back today to see the nurse for dressings…

this is an extract from an e mail i received from my macmillan nurse this morning... i had asked a few things about what i can get on prescription etc but also if i can get high protection skin cream... lots of people told me on here that they did so i thought no harm in asking.... this is the reply...

A few pics from the past week. Had a good weekend at mum and dads last weekend and the weekend just gone. Laying on the sofa with leg elevated and basically doing nothing. The leg actually went back to a decent shape and size! unfortunately do to mum begin a great cook, the size of my stomach got bigger.
Back to dressings clinic this wednesday... hope they will tell me its getting better. At the risk of repeating…
