The oesophagus has to go... And associated dribbling!

  • A short note on the lost Xmas

I really couldn't be bothered with Xmas this year... Something I didn't mention in the previous blog was that Dr Dhinakaran had asked me to chase up my previous chemotherapy notes to find out what had gone on.. There was nothing amusing about the laparoscopy as far as I can remember.... I can remember my sister very kindly taking me off to Stoke hospital at very early o'clock... Standing around in the mizzle for a while waiting for the doors to be opened then getting to the day ward; which was typically hectic with the inmates and assorted relatives not being completely sure what to do with themselves...

The Ultrasound endoscopy coincided with my having to do a 300 mile round trip later that afternoon to pick up my children - so, even though anaesthetic was offered, I opted for a liberal throat spray which meant I could drive straight afterwards... Though the ultrasound tube was a little thicker than the normal jobby, there was nowhere near the hideous discomfort of the biopsy... though Dr Jones was in there looking around…
