So this was my first exposure to oncology and I have to say... Rather bewildering... I'm going to generously put his lack of preparation down to it being 23rd Dec and his assuming that I was a simple case to get booked in... But to say that the interview was disjointed was an understatement...
I am happy to accept that specialist doctors are sometimes not blessed with the best Bedside manner and am going to assume that there are enough people there to know what's going on... But... He hadn't picked up from a previous team meeting, that I had previously and chemotherapy back in 1976...and that there were ramifications of that which needed consideration in proposing a treatment to shrink and contain the lymph nodes.
I still don't feel that the objective, Being to get the cancerous region into an operable shape from borderline, is properly understood... I have a pre chemotherapy session on the 11th which should establish that I hope...
As I write, I would dearly like to give him a kick up the butt... But then I also accept that I am probably not in control of my emotions and hope you keep this to yourselves for the time being!
Apologies if the punctuation and capitalisation isn't great... I'm writing this on a phone and the letters appear to be verging on miniscule....
