I did the last of my stomach injections last night. Yippee! It's been difficult, self-injecting, because I have a bit of a needle phobia; however, I found it not too bad doing it myself. The needles we're superfine and the disposable syringe mechanism meant that once the plunger was fully depressed the needle popped out on it's own. The needle withdrawal was always the worst part for me but no problem with these syringes. It's four weeks since the operation and I'm doing very well so far. I have a meeting with the stoma nurse next week so I will be able to get something for the itchy rash from the adhesive. Meanwhile I shall be writing to my doctor for a letter of recommendation to the council that I should have a shower put in. My bathroom is ancient and needs replacing anyway. So fingers crossed on that.
