Just a little postscript to my earlier post. I persuaded j to email the consultant, to ask about the blood results in relation to the favourable/unfavourable prognosis and to ask about relapses and beacopp. It wasn't difficult to track down his email address and I thought nothing ventured, it saves us all the agony of more consultation. Anyway joy of joys. A reply! And he is FAVOURABLE!!!! I don't know of it will influence…

We had a meeting with the consultant yesterday to discuss why he wants to change J from the ABVD regime to the escalated BEACOPP. Basically it all boils down to them never have used it in our region before and they've decided they'll give it a go with a group of the advanced patients including J.

Just a wee one on this week and how j's been doing post his first chemo. It's been quite a roller coaster week. We've had a couple of really good days out in the garden with the kids in the paddling pool…

So I wrote my last reasonably upbeat blog post on my phone while watching the kids at swimming lessons. Got home still upbeat to visibly distressed husband. His consultant had been on the phone, 5pm on a Friday, what a guy! He said, I think, and I don't know all the ins and outs cos j was too upset to take it all in, he's had a meeting at Newcastle ( a real one this time) and they've decided that j will be better…

John had his first chemo session yesterday. He was very anxious but it was probably the best appointment we've had. Aside from having to wait while the d part of his abvd was made and then delivered from the other side of the county, all went well. The nurses were lovely, the atmosphere was chilled and best of all he didn't suffer any ill effects. It feels good to be ticking them off. 1 down 11 to go. I just wish the…
