    Yesterday was a marathon we spent 18 hours traveling and at the hospital phew. But it was time well spent Peter had 2 units of blood and has pinked up nicely for Christmas.

    There were long discussions with the team and we have decided to try the Gatsby Trial.

    appointments for preliminary trial tests have been agreed and will be completed by 3rd January so Peter should start  chemo on 6th January.

    Well we presented ourselves at the given hour

    scrubbed shiny, suited and booted and wearing to much eye makeup (only me) so I wouldn't cry. 

    The verdict Top to Toe

    • Brain fine no abnormalities
    • Eyes Pupils are different sizes because of the cataract
    • Primary Oesophageal Tumour has not responded to Hereceptin and has grown considerably
    • Increasingly severe abdominal pain
    • All original metastisis have also increased…

    It was touch and go whether Peter would get to the gig . We had to stop off at A&E to exclude brain bleed. and he was to tired to even get dressed.

    But he was determined he wanted to see The Darkness and he got his wish. O.K so he had to be taken in before the crowds and sat in the front row of the circle rather than headbanging and shoving in the standing crowd below.

    This afternoon we have been told that Peter has either Horners Syndrome or secondaries in his brain.

    I knew these would be the most likely causes of his symptoms. I just hope he doesn't lose the sight in his right eye as he has a cataract in his left. I must not start  second guessing where we are going next on this journey  we are on the ride till it stops.

    It would be easy now to curl up under the duvet and hide…

    Crikey this is dig deep time... Peter has been blending in with the magnolia walls and as weak as a kitten.

    A post shower episode when he had palpitations, almost passed out and saw orange lights above him, made him believe he may not see Christmas so he has opened all his presents just in case. 

    I told him  trying to rush a hot shower in a steamy bathroom with an Hb of 7 would make anyone feel dizzy etc even if they…
