Hi has anyone heard of a genetic testing that is been done in Manchester to find people with a certain gene to give this drug? Only one in 20 have this abnormal gene and apparently this drug is supposed to be really good for people with this abnormal gene. I think its just for people with lung cancer and a certain type of lung cancer as well?

Hello me again, well the Tarceva didn't work! My poor mum went through 8 weeks of pain taking this drug and it hasn't done anything. The drug caused her to have a really bad rash on her face chest and back that drove her crazy for weeks. The doctor at one point wanted to hospitalise her but it started to calm down a bit so she didnt.
So now I am 1 week from having my baby and my mums cancer is growing again!…
Hi everyone, just wanted to ask a quick question about peoples life expectancy.
My mum got diagnosed with lung cancer in April last year and only got given 12 months which was a major shock! I just wanted to know if other peoples life expectancy diagnoses was realistic. I dont think I have worded this very well but it sounds right in my head, crazy I know!

Hi everyone just felt like I needed to offload, mum started her new drug today called Tarceva! Quite nervous about her going on it, I hope she isn't going to be really ill on it. She waited until after xmas to start it so she didnt feel ill on the day. She is on phase 2 now because her lung cancer has started to grow again! Hopefully the tablet will help to slow it down or possibly reduce it!
