Genetic testing??

Less than one minute read time.

Hi has anyone heard of a genetic testing that is been done in Manchester to find people with a certain gene to give this drug? Only one in 20 have this abnormal gene and apparently this drug is supposed to be really good for people with this abnormal gene. I think its just for people with lung cancer and a certain type of lung cancer as well?

    Hello Becs

I don't know much but I do know that where my partner works they are studying the genes as they are looking into some ppl get cancer (any form) and others don't thi My partner explained that  they found out about the cells dividing when the cells are forming there are 24 when these split to make new cells and dived some get confused hence creating cancer and instead of the body rejecting it it gives it a green light and still divides even though it could be 16 cells and not the usual make up of 24

it is a bit like your brain sending signals  your body (to move your hands fingers legs etc)

There is also the gene that some ppl get that is heredity more common in breast cancer but this is why they are looking into it at great depth.

I hope this helps you even if only a little or just a useless bit of info
