Hi,
im new to this forum, I just wanted to say hello and hopefully get some advise.
I go by shaz and I’m 32yr old. I am based in Northern Ireland.
i had originally been told at the start of October that i could potentially have cancer in the ovaries. I had to then get my left ovary and tube removed in the middle of October. 4 weeks later i had found out i had stage 1 in the ovaries. Large tumor in the left ovary and a small one in the right ovary that was removed. I was then advised that I would have to go for a biopsy of the womb as they feared that it could have started in the womb and spread to the ovaries. Two weeks later I had been diagnosed with stage 3 endometrioid cancer. They have said that the grade is not confirmed as of yet as they are going to do a hysterectomy and remove the right ovary and tube as well. They have said that once it has been removed then they will then determine the grade.
They have advised that I will be going for radiotherapy (both internal and external) but they have said that there may possibly be chemotherapy as well.
I was wondering if anyone who has been through this or is going through this as well could shed a bit of light on what treatment you have been offered?
for me it’s the unknown of the treatment plan. I know everyone is different and I just would like some advise on what to say or how to ask about it?
any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you
I have Serous Endometrial Cancer and have chemo #4 of 6 tomorrow. I finish the Paclitaxel and Carboplatin regime at the end of February. After that, I expect I will be advised to do radiation therapy. I was hoping to do a clinical trial instead but it closed before I could take part in it.
Hi Shaz ️
I was diagnosed in April 2024.. after my MRI intial stage was given as 1
Total hysterectomy in July
Upgraded to Stage 3 grade 2 type 1 in August 3 weeks after op
I Recovered well from op ..
listen to your body..dont over do things
September I began my 25 radiotherapy treatments .. 23 external 2 Bracktherapy..
CT scan thankfully showed no spread
November I began my Chemotherapy treatments
Paclitaxel and Carboplatin .. which I have tolerated really well ..
I have just completed 3 out 4 of my chemotherapy cycles..
Last one is on the 29th January .. .
My oncologist was really good and very informative she talked me through both radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment and all side affects . On the day I signed the concent forms .
Side affects are very daunting but also doable.
I lost my hair around day 14 of first chemotherapy cycle .. I was well prepared for this to happen both physically and mentally .. but it still came as a bit of a shock .
I learnt to take one day at a time and not to think to far ahead of myself by this I mean take one treatment at a time ..
For me that was getting through radiotherapy before stressing about the chemotherapy...
It's seem the end will never come .but it does and there is light at the end if the tunnel .
If there is any thing you would like to ask please don't hesitate to ask .. I wish you well on your journey to recovery
Best Wishes Stella x
Hi Shaz
I had a total hysterectomy on 29th July 2024 and finished 25 external radiotherapy & 2 brachytherapy treatments at the end of November. I started chemo on Wednesday 15th January 2025.
The radiotherapy was fairly straightforward but I would say look after your skin, my son bought me a cancer care pack from MooGoo which helped, my skin got red and a bit sore, and peeled a little. My worst side affect though was diarrhoea but I was given tablets by the Nurse Specialist to help with that. The brachytherapy worried me a little but to be fair I found it no worse than being prodded and poked while pregnant, just a little uncomfortable.
Take help when you can and look after number 1.
All the best for your ongoing treatment.
Hi Shaz
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis of cancer.
I had stage 1b, grade 3 endometrial carcinoma sarcoma in 2022. I had a total hysterectomy and this was followed by 4 cycles of chemotherapy (carboplatin and paclitaxel) and then I had 25 sessions of external beam radiotherapy.

I have my op now on Tuesday and I do know that it will be a long road with the op on its own as I had a few complications after the first surgery so but frightened with this one.
Can I ask, were you advised of the treatment before you had your operation? Or was this discussed after?
thanks you xx
