Hello there, I've been reading discussions since I was diagnosed in August. Only just feel up to joining in.

I have serous endometrial cancer, I've had surgery, waiting for my meet up with chemo nurse before therapy. Still can't decide whether to try scalp cooling, I have long hair, not sure if it will look ok as I realise even with scalp cooling I will lose some hair.

  • Hi Jip

Welcome to the Womb group. I think a lot of people spend a bit of time reading through posts first. I know it took a while for me to post.

I am sorry to hear of your endometrial cancer. I hope that you have recovered well from the surgery. if you click on my name, my profile will come up- but I had a similar grade 3 cancer- surgery was 2022 and then followed by chemo and then radiotherapy. I am now 2 years post treatment.

My chemo was carboplatin and paclitaxel and 4 cycles of 21 days. First day was at the hospital and then 20 at home to recover. If you have any questions about the chemo, I am happy to answer them. I know for me chemo was one of the things that scared me most at the start. However, although it could be challenging at times, I did find it doable in the end.

Scalp cooling is a personal decision and only you can decide what is right for you. I scalp cooled through out and am glad that I did. I will pop a link to a blog that I wrote with some photos to give you a bit more info.

Hope this helps a bit, but if there is anything you want to ask, please do so.
