I have been diagnosed with endometrial cancer and am waiting to find the results of and mri and ct scan I know it’s only 10 days wait but each day feels like an eternity how do I cope with the waiting
Hi Puglet54
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis of endometrial cancer and I can remember what a worrying time it felt. It is hard to wait for the scan results but hopefully they should come back soon. Probably delayed a bit by Christmas. I remember it being hard to focus on much else- If talking to someone would help, then please do give the Support Line a call.
The purpose for the scans is to check exactly where the cancer is so that they can work out the best treatment. For most ladies the first line treatment is a hysterectomy. I found that although it seems ages while waiting for the results, once they had them and the info had been discussed at a Multi Disciplinary Team meeting, things moved very quickly. I saw the consultant for the first time on the Friday lunchtime, had my pre op checks on the Friday pm and then the surgery happened on the Monday am.
There are lots of lovely ladies on here who will understand how you are and will want to offer support. If there is anything that you want to ask, then please do so.
