Hi,
Update on my journey, I was diagnosed with carcinoma sarcoma after having a hysterectomy to get rid of a tumour that was thought to be contained i have just been told it has cone back. I have a 10cm tumour in my pelvis. I am devastated. I only had my op in July and it's back all ready. They say they can't do any more surgery so will give me chemo to shrink and manage it. I'm very scared as its came back so so quick. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same. TIA
Lisa
Hey glad to head that your chemo will start soon! Sounds positive so far and hopefully will continue to do so.
The stomach pain bit of your journey got me thinking because I been having stomach pains lately but was reassured by my doctor when I saw her during my follow up that it was normal (healing). She has referred me to the chemo team and I might start chemo soon too! Not going to lie, the pending CT scan is giving me anxiety though.
My stomach has swollen i look like I'm pregnant. I've been told its the tumours and the pain is my muscles being pushed out by them. I think everyone gets stomach pains like they say part of the process of healing. Please don't be apprehensive of the scan get it done as soon as you can. Think I'm the exception to the rule and unfortunately with all the waiting I've done the cancer has got hold of me again. I'm very anxious and keeping all things crossed that the chemo can shrink them and they can manage them there after x
Your stomach pain and bloating sounds exactly what I endured pre-surgery. I’m glad you were given meds for it now.
Don’t really know what to expect when I meet my chemo doctor tomorrow actually. I am scheduled for another CT scan on Saturday but I’m guessing that’s standard procedure for anyone starting chemo/radio?
I hope your chemo also goes well this time around as I recall you saying that you had a reaction with it the firsf time.
Yes think the scans are standard procedure. Please Let me know how you get on with your chemo doctor, hopefully you won't need any or if you do they do it quickly xx
Managed to meet my doctor today but they are going to put me on radiotherapy first then chemo. So another anxiety for me as my research says chemo is usually given first then radio. At this point I’m just laughing at myself for creating anxiety for myself.
I really really hate cancer.
Hope you’re doing fine :)
At least they are doing something. I'm OK just counting the days down till my Chemo starts. Managed to get out for 10 mins today for a walk round the block. Xx
Hi, sorry I haven’t got back to you sooner - I was getting 20+ emails per day from Macmillan, so I had to transfer McM to my junk mail, and forgot to check it.
How is the chemo going, and are the steroids helping?
Julia x
