Hi
Just to recap
I had AI assisted removal of my uterus, tubes etc on 24 th March for clear cell cancer. Thankfully no spread at all.
Started 4 rounds of paclitaxil/ carboplatin 14th May 3 weeks apart. I am coping ok with it ,but the tiredness first week is brutal. However my issue is that I am getting some faecal leakage, that I am not even aware of since starting chemotherapy. I was constipated for 4 days initially after 1st chemotherapy, then had to start taking laxido and senna regularly on advice from hospital. I have cut down to one sachet of laxido daily which hasn't helped with the leakage. Don't want to get so constipated again, but this leakage is terrible. Anyone else come across this
Hi Charliebear70
I had a similar experience with constipation and was given laxido. It certainly worked but then i had the opposute happened and i couldnt go far from the loo. I also had a bit of leakage but thankfully it all settled down in the end. I was upset when a doctor discussed it with my husband and implied i was incontinent. Thankfully I am not.
I also had extreme tiredess but I still get tired and have a nap in the afternoons.
I took your advice about excercise and i have been swimming a lot and watching what i eat I am still feeling very fat but i will keep going. Got a nice salad tonight with lemon sole and a few new jersey royals.
Xx
Hi Charliebear
I found that for the first few days I was constipated and was told to use stool softeners. They did help.
I would then get some diarrhoea and was told to take imodium.
With the leakage, I wonder if it is worth asking whether it is due to some overflow diarrhoea?- as you said that you were initially constipated- from my understanding sometimes there can be some leakage around any hard stool. I did not have this but I remember talking about the tummy effects with my consultant. It may also be worth asking about any antinausea medication you are taking- ondansetron is known for its constipating effect whereas domperidone can cause more diarrhoea. I remember being told that there are alternatives if needed.

I am taking Medroidizole for nausea. I think I will mention I am having problems when I go for next chemo. Thank you and Best wishes x
Oops meant Metaclopromde. Just noticed it can cause diarrhoea.
