Hi Maiseymoo, I’d suggest that it’s more likely to be due to the shock and anxiety of a cancer diagnosis, rather than of the cancer itself.
Hi Maiseymoo
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis of womb cancer. I remember what a worrying time it was when I had my diagnosis.
I also remember feeling really tired around the time of my diagnosis. Whilst fatigue can be a factor with cancer, if the tiredness has began around the time of your testing and diagnosis it may well be due to the upset and shock of having the diagnosis. I remember that I did not sleep well and had lots of worries. Once I knew what was going to happen in terms of treatment and when, I did feel a bit better.
If it would help to talk things through, please give the Support Line a call. They are there from 8am-8pm daily. If the tiredness is related to the worries around having the diagnosis, talking to someone may help.
There are many lovely ladies on here who will understand how you are feeling at the moment and who will want to offer support. If you have any questions, please do ask.

Hi Maiseymoo, sorry to hear you have had a diagnosis of womb cancer. You’ve come to the right place for support and advice, this forum is full of kind women who have or are going through the same things. I was diagnosed with womb cancer in December, had MRI and CT scans and then hysterectomy in January. Currently waiting for histology results and treatment plan. Ever since I had my diagnosis I’ve had to manage lack of energy and tiredness and did not sleep well and as marmite fan has said below, that’s likely to be due to the shock and anxiety of the diagnosis. Take it easy, look after yourself and use all support offered to you. I had to get used to going for a rest and lie down every afternoon. This forum and the McMillan helpline got me through those first few weeks. Sending you lots of positive thoughts
Hi Maisymoo
I am so sorry you have been diagnosed with womb cancer. It's an awful thing to happen and perhaps your tiredness is your body's defence system coming into play by asking you to sleep. But it can be a symptom. For me it was the more or less the only one.
I was diagnosed with clear cell endometrial cancer, but before that, for about three to four months I suffered from exhaustion.
l am 68 and was still working as a teacher, so I thought the tiredness was due to aging, but I remember having to go to bed early after dinner and stay bed most weekends to rest. Dragging myself up in the morning to go to work took all the strength I had. On holiday in July, the slightest exertion meant I had to lie down for at least an hour.
I would never have done anything about my tiredness except that one day I saw a single spot of blood, looking like it had come from a pippette. It was really tiny so I thought that's strange. I didn't think anything else.
The next day the single spot appeared again at the same time in the afternoon and this time I thought I would go to the GP but I didn't really want to because you usually have to wait ages for an appointment. When the third single spot appeared on the third afternoon, I phoned the GP.
I had never had any blood before and those were the only 3 spots I ever had. I would have missed them had I been wearing dark knickers. My GP sprang into action and I was seen by the hospital in 4 days.
When I did get my diagnosis a month later, I stopped work and the tiredness lifted immediately. I seemed to be running on grief and adrenaline.
So to answer your question yes extreme tiredness is a symptom and sometimes the only symptom.
However, you say you are tired now you have had the diagnosis. Were you tired before the diagnosis or has it only just come?
If it has only just come it is likely to be your body's defences.
Whichever it is I want to send you love and prayers at the start of your journey.
Jackie
