I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for all the support, advice, and encouragement you’ve given me. It has brought me so much comfort during a very emotional time.

I also wanted to share my experience of endometrial cancer in the hope that it may help others. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had a good outcome, though I carry a sense of guilt knowing others are still undergoing treatment.

On 4th June, I had a full hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy performed laparoscopically under spinal block and general anaesthetic. I was discharged the following day and, surprisingly, didn’t require any pain relief after returning home.

Two weeks post-surgery, I was able to return to full-time, office-based work. One thing that really helped with my recovery was a V-shaped pillow—it supported me during sleep and prevented me from rolling onto my side, which made a huge difference in my comfort.

I found the anticoagulant injections particularly uncomfortable, as the solution caused a stinging sensation. Using an ice pack before and after the injections helped ease the discomfort significantly.

I’ve been very careful to follow the advice not to lift anything heavy and, to be honest, I’m still a bit nervous about doing so—so I’m continuing to avoid it.

Receiving my histology results was incredibly emotional. I knew I’d cry no matter what the outcome. Thankfully, the results confirmed I was stage 1, grade 1, and no further treatment was needed.

This whole experience has changed my perspective. It’s taught me to appreciate even the smallest things and to be more patient and kind—with others and with myself.

I wish all you ladies well with your journey too.
