Hello All
I just wanted to pop on and ask if anyone has had pelvic pain after you have finished treatment ??
I had 3 x Brachytherapy and I am 8 weeks passed the last treatment, I had a little bit of cystitis early on but nothing else to write about until now, the last few days I have had an achy stomach so period pain like, only mild but I know its their. Or is it am I imagining it ??
I keep having to give my head a wobble and say I don't have Cancer they said its all gone and the treatment was preventative , I am usually a positive person but this has got me a little teary and what if !!
Anyone else felt like this ? I am at the nurse later unrelated just for Bloods results as post Hysto I am really struggling with my joints so will ask her as well if she has any clues ?
Thanks
Linda
Hi Linda
Having the bloods done is a good plan and it may give some reassurance.
With the achy joints I wonder if this is something to do with a surgical menopause? It may be worth asking your nurse.
My feeling with the achy pain in your tummy is that it would be a good idea to contact your CNS/radiotherapy dept and get some reassurance that this is connected to the brachytherapy. It may be that they could examine you and check all is healing as it should. My other thought is have you been more active than normal or over done things in the last few days and whether that is connected. In any case it would be wise to get checked. You may be due a check up soon?

Hi Jane
Bloods came back as OK other than Iron and Dr wants to see me Friday, I've got a follow up call on Thursday with the Radiotherapy team so will be asking them as well just wondering really if anyone else had similar.. It's hard trying to not jump on every twinge and thinking is this OK or not... But it's how it is for many of us.. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about and I'll be able to update after my appointments.
My radiotherapy was external and I did have some aching in my hips for a while. I can not remember having any pelvic pain at any point- after surgery, chemo or the radiotherapy.
It is not something that I have heard about with brachytherapy on here, but it seems likely that it may be connected. I wonder if it is the tissues recovering from the treatment. However with any cancer, particularly a grade 2 or grade 3 its always best to err on the side of caution.
Good luck for Thursday.
Jane
