  • Hi Doreen,

Life can feel overwhelming at times and it can take a while to come to terms with a cancer diagnosis.

Lots of people on here have offered some really good advice and I hope that you have found it helpful.

The Support Line is there when you need it.

You have got Macmillan Buddies set up- how is that going?

I mentioned the HOPE course- it is well worth looking into.

The Life After Cancer forum may also be helpful for you.

The Counselling is a good idea as it seems that you have a lot going on and the cancer diagnosis is part of it. It can be stressful to think about starting counselling, but I do believe it will help you once you get going.

With your anxiety and depression it is worth persisting with your GP if you are still not feeling better.

It may also be worth asking about a Holistic Needs Assessment.

  • the buddy going ok she seems very nice but she did say that she doesn't have a maice wond i had it when people say that i m trying it's not been easy

  • I think considering that your surgery was last year and that you have had other things going on- it will naturally take some more time. But if you continue to look at the suggestions we have made and talk things through with the Buddy and also the counsellor. Hopefully with all of that plus support from your GP for your anxiety and depression then things should start to feel a bit more in control.

Recovery takes time and you have made the first step so well done.

I think also that if you do not get a reply from someone straight away- don't worry. People tend to come on here at different times in their own journeys and some just like to read of others experiences. If someone is currently going through chemotherapy for example they are not at the same stage in their journey so may not have advice. Others who have completed their treatment, sometimes just naturally move on from the forum.

I saw that you updated your profile- well done- it will help others know a little about you so if there is someone who is also struggling after having a hysterectomy, they may well now be able to offer support.

Good luck and keep going with the Buddy and counselling.

    Jane
