Hi everyone, l had a a biopsy last Friday under general anaesthetic. I had been told that uterus lining was 14.7mm so at almost 70years of age l was concerned, however after procedure the surgeon came to see me and told me that they had been u able to get a biopsy of my lining as it was too thin but they had found a polyp which was removed and sent to pathology so l have to wait for results on that.
l just wanted to tell you all that as you can see measurements of your uterus lining is not always correct (and l had two done at two separate clinics. The first stated my lining was 8.9mm and the second 14.7mm) so I’m hoping this might give you some comfort but l am not saying this is always the case but discuss it with the Doctor when you get the result l didn’t and it might have made me feel less anxious.
Obviously l am not out of the woods and l still feel anxious. I also haven’t felt great health wise but may have been going down with something previously, and today l had a sudden loss of blood, l conntacted the ward who advised me to monitor my loss and to call if it got very heavy or if l passed clot's, thankfully all seems ok. So if you have to have a general (or not) anaesthetic be kind to yourself. Take care all
Hello Ayers
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear that you have had to go through a biopsy under GA last week. I hope that you get your results though quickly.
It is very normal to feel anxious at a time like this and please do give the Support Line a call if you feel like you would like to talk to someone.
I hope the bleeding has now settled for you and do give the ward a call if you have any further concerns.
Jane
