Hi, I’m 70 years old and  I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer a fortnight ago. Have to have a hysterectomy. Had my MRI and CT scans on Friday. Been feeling quite numb and coping really well. Woke up today and think it has finally hit me. Can’t seem to shake off the feeling that my scans will show it has spread and the fact I have cancer has been at the forefront of my mind most of the day. The waiting for results is unbearable. I know you have all been where I am now and just wondered if any of you felt the same when it finally hit home.

Best wishes to everyone.
Sue. X

  • Aww glad you got your results over the phone and were good so to speak .. that’s fabulous Heartpulse

Thought they’d tell me to loose weight but I told them Iv lost a stone so far .. not intentionally tho as got a new puppy who is 100 mph and doesn’t give us a min peace Joy she goes mad if we snack on a night so easier to not get up to raid the cupboard and let her sleep lol Stuck out tongue closed eyes it’s like having a child at times as she’s hard work and spoilt.. she’s nearly 6 month old lol

Some lovely people about and reminds me that when the rest of the world seems to be going mad at timesCry

  • Hi Sue,

I didn't reach any of those events yet, but I've been in a similar sitution where I was confident 100% that the tests would come back negative and I'll be free to go. Until the very day I would find out the results, it hit me like a truck, the fact that it can be a positive result back and my world crashed over my head, couldn't stand on my knees and needed a quick breath break. Luckily it all turned out well, no cancer yet for me.

  • Hi lorry787

So very pleased everything turned out well for you. Nevertheless you’ve been through the emotional wringer. I wish you all the best. X

  • Hi lorry787! How exactly did that work? You say you had a positive result back and yet no cancer. So glad for you but what exactly happened? I am grade 1 slow growing and highly treatable at this stage but wonder what your results were.
