Hello Nit.Thu57
My consultant said to me that they do it for a baseline and if it goes up or down it is a useful marker. She said it is more applicable with ovarian cancer and does not necessarily rise in some types of endometrial cancer. A higher level might also be an indicator of non cancer causes. She said it was a bit like an indicator and part of the picture but couldn't rely on it on its own.
Hope this helps, it is what I was told. You could give the support line a quick call and ask for more info if you need it.

I had an appointment at my GPs June 2022 after experiencing a slight discharge and spotting. Blood tests were taken and I was fast tracked for a gynaecology consultation which resulted in an endometrial cancer diagnosis. I checked my blood results online and the CA 125 was 30 which was on the higher side but still within the normal range. I got the impression that, combined with other tests, it may indicate a problem but on its own it's not definitive. I had blood tests pre op and pre brachytherapy but they all came back as normal.
