Hi
I haven’t been on here for a while
wondering how you ladies are doing!
i had radical hysterectomy Sept 14 for carcinosarcoma , was stage 1a with no invasion anywhere. So no chemo or radiation recommended
I had a lot of pain and pressure for close to a month in November, so had a CT scan ,it came Back NED. Have an appointment on Jan 24 to go over the scan , hoping it explains the vaginal pain and pressure
Anyone have these types of symptoms post surgery?
Hi Sassy, I haven’t had anything like that but hope you get some answers at your appointment. Is it possible that you perhaps overdid things a bit after surgery?
Hello, sorry you are having these problems but glad it's not the cancer returning!. I am thinking maybe you have lymphatic fluid build up in the lower pelvis, this would make sense with the pressure type discomfort. After my hysterectomy I was losing fluid through the vaginal vault as it was unhealed but this did get better, although I did worry about the fluid if it hadn't stopped and where it would go?
Hopefully you will get some answers at your next appointment but whatever please let us know how it goes and your post may help someone else.
There is a post on here about lymphatic fluid leaking....let me know if you can't find it, I will add the link for you.
Take care xx
Hi Mad
thank you for your reply, I did read something about that and was wondering as well if that is the issue, I haven’t noticed any leakage , hopefully this will show on the CT scan report
I will see if I can find that post you are referring to
Best Regards!!️
Hi MarmiteFan59!
I did take it pretty easy, but it is possible!
Thank you Sistermoon, appointment coming up!
all the best to you️
Hi Sassy
I’m 11 weeks post total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and lymphadenectomy, same staging and no further treatment was necessary thankfully. For 4 weeks recovery went really well, I was even thinking of going back to work but then I started having pains with a swelling in my lower abdomen to the left of my incision. Also the pressure “down below” was becoming really uncomfortable especially when passing wind. Then the right side started swelling too. I was discharged from the operating hospital back to the referring unit I tried calling them, emailing and leaving messages but I couldn’t get hold of anyone and the operating hospital have said I have to talk to the referring unit. It was so bad one night I had to call 111 as I felt something was not right. They said it was early days and the swelling would go down, carry on with the painkillers and call back if it got worse. I had quite a bad dose of Covid at the same time so I wasn’t feeling great generally and put it down to that. Anyway the swelling did go down and the pain subsided. However it has flared up again. The pressure has subsided a bit but the pain and swelling is back plus the area around my incision has started to feel very tender again even though it has healed very well. I have had to make an appointment with my doctor as I still cannot reach anyone by phone but that’s not for another three weeks. I do feel like I am in limbo right now. Anyway, and sorry, I have just realised I hijacked your post for a mini rant and haven’t offered anything helpful, but I just wanted to say that yes I am having the same type of symptoms and I hope that we can both get them sorted very soon.
Hi Chrissy, have you talked to your CNS about your symptoms and concerns?
Thanks for replying. Unfortunately not. I never really got to know my initial CNS as the hospital where I was diagnosed could only do the operation if my diagnosis stayed at 1a but an MRI showed a possible move to 1b which they were not equipped for so I was discharged from there and sent to a larger hospital that could do the operation and offer further treatment if necessary. I never really got to know a CNS there either as the couple of times I called when I had a concerns after the op, I spoke to a different CNS each time. Luckily a further CT scan showed that I was still at stage 1a but I still had the op at the larger facility. They discharged me back to the referring hospital after my follow up appointment showed no further treatment needed. I have tried calling the initial CNS on the numbers she gave me and emailing but I never get an answer. So I am wondering if she is no longer there. I have left messages and sent emails but I have yet to hear back. Even getting through to anyone else in the gynaecology department is proving difficult. Apart from receiving an appointment for a follow up in 6 months I have heard from no-one. So I have had to get an appt with my GP which is a mission in itself. I do feel a bit lost at the moment. I will continue to try and contact them, and call my doctors each day to see if they have any cancellations but right now it just seems like I’m being told “You had cancer, now you don’t. See you in 6 months”.
