Well ladies, after a short absence, I’m back but in a lesser capacity.
To say the last couple of months has been hard is an understatement. The time after my first infusion was taken up by getting pain meds and constipation under control. “Next treatment was rushed into A&E as very poorly, lot of pain, sweating, shivering low temperature, dizzy, vomiting. It was caused by acute cholecystitis. An inflammation of the gallbladder. Was in for 10 days on antibiotics, fluids, analgesia, anti nausea.
The third infusion seemed to go well then a week later back into hospital with the same symptoms. This time it's just 7 days.
I’m now as weak as a kitten with no energy. Spend most of my time shuffling from bedroom to bathroom to conservatory with naps in between. For someone who got up before 7 every day, walked 3-5 miles daily it’s torture. Didn't think it was possible to sleep so much.
My dosage from one of the drugs had been halved after the first problem and then was further reduced after the second. A CT scan I’d had in hospital.had shown little reduction on the tumours so my Oncologist had started to debate whether to continue with treatments which would be curtains for me. Anyway, I upped my dosage from 8mg to 10 and my pain has lessened. I'm feeling a bit better so I hope things are working and killing the little bugger.
Next treatment is next Friday the 13th so I hope that is not an omen.
It’s taken me a couple of days to write this so I wont be dashing off messages in bucket loads.
I hadn’t looked at the site for the last few weeks so looking through now can’t begin to express my thanks for your lovely messages of support. We all know when you’re down how much they mean.
Much love Barb xx
Morning Barb
How good it is to hear from you, but what a challenging and tough time you’ve been going through recently. All of the ladies have been thinking of you and sending out their love and virtual hugs-you have been very much missed in the group.
I’m glad to read you are feeling a little better, and hope your next treatment goes smoothly. What a trooper you are!

Hi Barb, how lovely to see you back on here. Just take things very easy, with baby steps forward, but at least you are going forward. The last few months have been gruesome for you. As you can see we have all had you in our thoughts, and you’ve had tons of love winging its way to you. Glad you’ve felt strong enough to write a message, let’s hope you continue to get some strength back.
Big hug from me

Barb. You are a remarkably woman as although you say you feel so weak you have still managed to get this far. Even if you aren’t able to come onto the forum or message you know that we are all here for you and sending positive thoughts and hugs xx
Hello Barb, it's good to hear from you, but I'm so sorry to hear how tough your treatment is and I really hope things improve and you start to feel stronger. Your words and advice are such a comfort to so many ladies on this sight.
Morning Barb
So good to hear from you, I often wonder how you are doing under such tough circumstances. I will be thinking of you next Friday and hoping the treatment goes well for you and you continue to feel a little stronger.
Sending hugs,
Lesley xx
Hi Barb,
Lovely to hear from you. It sounds horrendous all that you've been through. I can only imagine the pain and feeling so terrible. I know you'll want to try to continue with the treatment and I hope all is well after your next one. You're a strong lady, going through all this treatment, not to mention the recent setbacks. But, like I always say, what choice do we have, got to keep keeping on. Take it easy and gather your strength for Friday, we're all behind you wishing you well.
A x
