Hi guys,
i had a histeroscopy,13/12/22 under general anesthetic.
The doctor's came and spoke to me in recovery,so i was not really with it.But i had gone in because my uterus lining was 4.4 mm and not the 4mm it is supposed to be after menapause.
They told me no polyop or fibrods were found(i remember feeling disappointed as i was hoping this had caused the 4.4mm)the lady doctor said she would bet alot of money it was not cancer ,which i found a weird thing to say and not reassuring as i know i have to wait for results,im really worried and just wondered if anyone can shed any light on what iv been told or what has been written in my notes,i just wish they had come round when i was a bit more with it so i could have asked more questions.
on my discharge summary it says ;DIAGNOSIS; No ranking;Abnormal vaginal bleeding(confirmed)-presented on 13/12/22
underwent hysterscopy and endometrial biopsy for pmb histeroscopy showed a thin atrophic endometrium ,procedure was uncomplecated
plan and requested actions-write with history.
Any input or advise wold be great
Thank you x
Hi I love cake,
Well done for getting it done and I hope you are over the effects of the GA now and feeling more yourself. It’s more waiting I’m afraid till the results come through, which should be on or just after the day when your MDT meet. I was told mine would be 2 weeks but 2 weeks happened and I hadn’t heard, so I chased the results and got them 2 days later. I agree that it’s not helpful to be told it’s probably not before the histology has been done, but there seems to often be this mentality of “only tell them what you think they can cope with” or “tell them things to make them feel positive” which may be right for some and may seem to be trying to be helpful but to me it wasn’t. I think you’re right to try and keep an open mind about it till you know. Hoping that you do hear soon - do you know what day of the week your MDT meet?
Hi thanks for the reply,no i have no idea.
im confused as i thought i had a thicker lining 4.4 and now in notes it says a thin atrophic endometrium ?
I’m obviously not medical but what it may mean is that the tissue itself is thin (in composition) even though the lining is slightly thicker, which may mean it’s just endometrial atrophy, which can in itself cause occasional bleeding.
