Hi all,
I highly recommend this TV programme on C4/ 4seven. Cancer patients and the surgeons treating them at The Royal Marsden Hospital. Scenes of surgery though, maybe not for the squeamish. 3programmes.

Hi . I might take a look though confess prior to my hubby having a hip replacement we watched a YouTube video of the procedure done with an epidural. I nearly fainted. He vowed he'd opt for a full general. Hip #1 he had it done under GA then Hip#2 was by epidural and he said it was a breeze.
I often watch the Supervet programmes seemingly able to cope with animals rather than humans.
I might take a deep breath and watch ..........

Hi Amanda. TBH it was tiring, back to back meals, meet-ups with family and friends and it passed in a flash! 5 hour drive either side of the visits. We slept in a very bouncy double bed - great fun in your 20's but nearly 70's & 80's - No!
Glad to get back home to peace and quiet and the superking bed we treated ourselves to 10 years ago!
I admit it was lovely seeing them all and we had a lot to cover since it was over 3 years since we'd seen then. Hopefully won't be so long til we meet up again.
Hugs, Barbxx

Hi Amanda
I have watched all 3 episodes whilst I've been recovering and found them fascinating, terrifying and heartbreaking all at the same time. The surgery scenes are very gory although I was interested in episode 3 as there was a lady due to have a similar procedure to what I had and I was curious to know more.
The surgeons at the Royal Marsden do seem to really care about their patients.
Thanks for sharing this. I've watched all three episodes. I thought everyone was so genuine, the people, the doctors, and it was filmed so sensitively. Sad for those that died. It was poignant that one of the doctors admitted that it was like a friend dying. I also found it really interesting when they revealed their thought processes and the inner questioning they gave themselves "am I doing the right thing for x". Oh and the "sh1t" moments when a blood vessel burst during surgery.
