what is the constant watery discharge ?? I am newly diagnosed with endometrial cancer , haven’t been seen yet by the Gynocologist , going today. Hopefully will get answers then , but am wondering if you any of you have this and how long it lasted. Also have a lot of bloating
Hi SassyL53
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but you have come to the right place to ask any questions about your diagnosis and treatment.
I too had a watery discharge prior to being diagnosed and during my hysteroscopy had to have quite a lot of fluid drained for them to do the biopsy which continued up until my surgery, and although I mentioned it to all the medical professionals I had seen they didn't seem too concerned by it so I never really got an answer as to what was causing it. Hopefully your medical team may be able to shed more light on it...my guess is that it's the tumour weeping like any wound would but I can't be sure?
Watery discharge seem to be a thing with me (I am just over 2 weeks post op) and have been having heavy lymph fluid discharge which is from my lymph nodes being removed but that's another story.
Anyway hope your appointment goes well and you get the answers you need.
Sassy, none of us are medical so we can’t answer definitively, but my opinion is no it’s not, that it’s more likely to be the body reacting to the inflammation/irritation.
I met with The Gynaecologist today and she confirmed that is is the uterus trying to expel the tumour. Will disappear once tumour is gone
Hi
The fluid discharge wasn't heavy prior to diagnosis and op so a pant liner sufficed, however I was gob smacked they had to drain about 50ml from my uterus when doing the hysteroscopy - this was done by a thin tube and a syringe I think which was also sent off for testing. The reason it had collected was that my cervix had closed off (I think stenosed is the medical term) so it wasn't all able to escape by the usual route.
They never mentioned anything about the fluid being cancerous only the tumour, but I did mention it to a number of the medical team post diagnosis and they didn't seem concerned by it.
I did have a bit of bloating but I knew I had put on weight during lockdown and that my clothes were fitting tighter than they were so I put my larger tummy down weight gain but it could have been a mixture of both.
I've just seen that you've got more info from your gynaecologist so hopefully this has put your mind at rest.
