Hi. I’m new to the group. I’ve had an implant for 9 years that was removed in July 2021 as blood tests seemed to suggest I’m post menopause. All going well seemed to sail through uneventful until now. Bleeding started and lasted 9 days. Did Dr Google who advised this wasn’t normal so called Dr last Monday. He organised an ultrasound for Wednesday which indicates my endometrium lining is 18mm and irregular. Now have a consultant appointment on a Thursday. All very quick and worrying.
my nhs app now states suspected cancer. Any help out there? Xx
Hi PeloQueen and a warm welcome to lovely group of supportive ladies. We've all been where you are now and between us have masses of experience we're happy to share.
A thickened endometrium lining often sets alarm bells ringing after the ultrasound scan, thereafter its normally hysteroscopy with biopsies taken, CT scan and perhaps MRI can. The Multi Discipline Team consisting of Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Oncologists, CNS's and theatre staff then meet to discuss their findings and devise a treatment plan.
I was diagnosed in 2020 at the height of the pandemic and everything took a lot longer. The speed at which you're being seen says to me they're pretty much back to speed.

It might also be a good idea to download this booklet Understanding Womb (Endometrial) Cancer. I found it invaluable.
