Had my op done robotically on Tuesday, the op took longer than expected. My body temperature dropped very low so I had a bear hugger back on the ward, I was expecting to come home yesterday but they kept me another night as I was exhausted, glad it’s all over. Two weeks to wait for the results xx

  • Hi Shoes64 thanks for update hope the news from histology is better than expected. Take it easy and look after yourself. Xx

  • Well done and very glad you’re home. If you have any questions about recovery please do fire away! Hope you’re able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!

  • Hi Shoes64

Pleased your home now where you can rest properly and heal. Listen to your body and take each day at a time.

    Hugs Robin x

  • Yes I’m glad to be home unfortunately the weather in Scotland is dire lol xx

  • Thanks Robin it’s going to be hard taking it easy but I will try lol xx

  • Hi . How are you feeling today? Taking it easy I hope, baby steps! I've not heard the expression bear hugger - is that some sort of super duvet?

The wait for histology results can be debilitating so if you've any questions in the meantime fire away.

    Hus, Barb xx

  • I’m feeling quite good today so far, managed to get showered and dressed ( not sure how long for lol) No pain killers so far Fingers crossed tone1 A Bear hugger is a special heated blanket they put on top of you. My temp was dangerously low for first 36hrs after surgery. The Scottish weather is a bit temperamental it’s sunny just now but not very warm, hopefully get into the garden later. Love Karen

  • Sorry you suffered from the side effects and I can sympathise. My temp was fluctuating drastically and blood pressure caused a lot of issues and it was horrible. My biggest help has been my microwave wheat sock as it's much easier to tuck in and keep close to the body than a hot water bottle. Bit chillier here with the wind today even in the deep South so keep wrapped up, enjoy a bit of peace and naps without the incessant hospital beeps.

    Hi shoes

I bet you're pleased to be home. Don't try to do what you'd normally do, accept help and take it easy.

I tried to carry on as normal to a point after surgery.  It's only now I'm on chemo that I'm learning I can't do it all and am listening to my body.

    Take care

  • Hi Sistermoon. Where are you with your chemo cycles at the moment? How are you coping with it?

I have read your Bio and it must of been such a shock for you when you had your histology results. We are all here for you anytime you need a virtual hug or some support. Take care.

    Hugs Robin.
