No idea I have only been introduced to my macmillan nurse as a point of access she’s back this week from annual leave and my consultant

I’m expecting nurse to ring me this week I’m not sure if I will get mri results before my op

only 3 shifts left at work now yayyyy lol it’s sounds silly but I’m actually wanting the op just to get it over with I’m not that nervous or anxious about surgery 2 weeks countdown x

  • Hi ZippyG

I was quite impatient and rang the nurse specialist to see if my MRI and CT scan results were back and they were so she was able to tell me over the phone, before the MDT meeting that the MRI showed my cancer staged at 1a. Incidentally,  my MRI was without contrast but my CT scan was with contrast .

I love your attitude that you're not nervous and just want the surgery  over  and  done  with. It's  a known  fact that if  you can  stay positive your recovery will be so much better as positive thinking allows you to feel less stress which in turn lowers inflammation. With less inflammation, the body can heal quicker.

Good luck with your op......it'll soon come around and be over. X

my mri was with and without contrast x

its the waiting I hate for results etc but we have all been there xxx

    thanks for your support xx

  • Good to hear the MRI wasn't as bad as expected. Quick tip always make sure you're well hydrated before blood tests or canula insertion, makes the veins easier to locate.

When I have my chemo I'm given a little warm beanbag out of the microwave to enable the veins to pop up and they certainly help.

I also love your positive attitude, lets get it over with! Well done you!

    Big hugs, Barb xx
