Heart eyesHello my lovelies

Got some GOOD NEWS from CNS today.  My cancer has not spread and was confined to the uterus only.

I await an appointment to see Consultant Oncologist to discuss further treatments as insurance against the return of it and because its high grade.

The stage is still 1a. Lymph nodes all clear. Omentum  clear.

Such relief and onwards and upwards I'm ready for the next step and have every hope of beating Heartbeat this .

Thanks to you all who gave encouragement during this stressful time awaiting news.

Big hugs to you all. Maddy  xxxx

  • Bless you Maddy and glad you had some good news. Yet another wait for the Oncologist Consultant appointment - but hopefully it will be through very soon. Mine was within a week of my results (pushed for by one of my CNS nurses as I’d phoned her in a flap) so hopefully yours will be as quick.

  • Glad you have had good news, hopefully your wait for an appointment won’t be long.  Think I waited about 2 weeks possibly less for mine but I had my surgery in Liverpool women’s hospital and the oncologist I have that deals with my chemotherapy is in clatterbridge cancer centre. X

  • Thankyou.  I don't think it will be long now they seem to be on the ball and always called me when they said they would. Yesterday I got call from CNS nurse at hospital where I had operation and thengot a call from local hospital CNS nurse too informing me that my treatments will be done locally apart from brachytherapy which will be back at Addenbrookes Cambridge. I'm ready fir next steps and hwever bad I may feel bur know I can do this with the help and encouragement of my family friends and this lovely community Heart

  • I’m so pleased for you - it’s so lovely to hear your good news.  I had my hysterectomy at Addenbrookes too!   That explains why we both had to isolate for ten days and were given a spirolater! xx

  • Hi Lolabo

I felt really well cared for and the nurses surgeon etc were all lovely.  The Addenbrookes hospital was spotless.

I used to work in a hospital when I was younger  and always compare the cleanliness of them now to how they used to be. But Addenbrookes are well organised security on the doors to ensure you wash your hands and use their masks. I cannot fault anything.

I was also given six bottles of pre op drinks.

Hope yiu were happy with the care. I was on Daphne ward.

    Xxx

  • That is really good news!  Mine was still 1a after my op too, but grade 3 and very aggressive, so I am having chemo now and will have brachytherapy afterwards.  It feels great to know that actually the cancer is no longer there and that these treatments are belt and brace precautionary. Take care x

  • Me too lol - I can’t fault them at all, everyone was so lovely and I had a fantastic surgeon too.  I had the pre-op drinks too and the daily injections (which I’m now counting down as I’m on my final box!).  I’m going back to my local hospital to see the oncologist next week and I guess to have my radiotherapy too, but I can’t thank Addenbrookes enough for all they did for me xxx

  •  glad you have your oncologist appointment through - does this mean you’ve had your post-hysterectomy results?

  • . Oh Maddy, best news ever, so very pleased for you.

As you're the same grade I'd mention will there be the possibility of chemo? I was only offered Brachytherapy as an optional extra and sadly mine came back. Don't want to put the mockers on your good news but err on the side of caution!

    Biggest hugs, Barb xx
