I had my total hysterectomy for leiomyosarcoma in July this year and I've had ongoing issues with my bowels ever since. I have really painful urgency and "go" probably about six times a day. I also have uncontrollable wind!!! Before I had my diagnosis I was using vagifem every evening as I had vaginal atrophy... doesn't that sound attractive? It really helped with my continence as it had become a real problem. I mentioned using vagifem to my sarcoma consultant to ask if it could have made my cancer accelerate. He said no, the amount of HRT is minimal. Up until today I've had no problems with bladder incontinence but this evening I could not hold it at all and had to get straight into the shower. I am due to see him at the end of the month and will ask him if it is safe for me to use vagifem again.
Sorry to be so graphic. Deb

Deborino, i am sorry to hear about this, but I think really you should contact your CNS and Gp about this because I think waiting till the end of the month is a very long time and they really need to check whether there is something else that is causing the incontinence. I believe for your own peace of mind getting it checked sooner sounds like a good idea. I don’t know about vagifem and how much it can help but they also may have other ideas on how to help you too.
I hope you get answers and help very soon, sending gentle bear hugs

Deborino Hi Deb. I had an interesting conversation with my CNS the other day. I was telling her about my ongoing bowel problems and the fact I just had a CT scan to check things out. She asked me loads of questions about my diet and then mentioned it sounded like I'm developing IBS. I did say but I eat a healthy diet, wholegrain bread, rice and pasta, plenty of pulses and beans and fibre from veg. So it seems my gut could be fermenting gas from all these foods producing painful cramps, wind and sorry for saying it insufficient Poo for the amount of pain I'm going through!. I did say I had to go more frequently than I used to, almost immediately after eating.
It'll be interesting to see what my CT scan shows up!
I wouldn't wait to the end of the month to get things checked out - I initially mentioned my pains which I thought was due to a pull-start on a petrol mower fighting back and pulling a muscle in August. 3 months later it's still not fully resolved and in the meantime you can guess where my mind is going!
Hugs, Barb xx
