Hi all
just a quick update. It’s been one week exactly since my hysterectomy.
Consultant told me that he didn’t think that the cancer had spread but (there’s always a but it seems) he thought that my ovaries looked “a little abnormal”. He wouldn’t really elaborate on this. You can imagine that my mind is everywhere!
It’s another two weeks for results and I already feel that I am going crazy. Has anyone else out there had news like this?
please take care everyone. Wishing you all the very best. X
Hi Shirley100 and welcome back, hope you're making steady progress and taking things easy, baby steps.
I had the hysterectomy and the BSO (removal of fallopian tubes, ovaries) at the same time. I assume because of my age at the time (67) I was deemed not needing them any more. I can't recall what age you are and there's nothing in your profile!
Don't overthink things, just concentrate on healing yourself. You'll only hear once the pathology results are in so don't torture yourself in the interim! I hate to read when the consultant makes a "throw away" remark like that - don't they realise what a can of worms it opens for us?
Sending hugs, Barb x

Hi Shirley,
Good to hear from you. A weeks very early days, hope you’re taking it easy still. As everyone says, the waiting is the worst, no matter what we are waiting for! Dont try to read too much into things, we try to dissect each & every detail, and end up catastrophising . Wait until you hear from the pathology. The nurse who rang me read from notes and said there was ‘one focal area’ which honestly has played so heavy on my mind, thinking why, where, what… & the answer is I don’t have the answer, and no matter what, we can’t change what is on the report. I don’t see the consultant until 17 November following surgery 1st September, so still a while to wait. Whatever Shirley, there are ladies on here who have heard, seen and dealt with all this before, and are around to offer support and advice. I wish you so well, keep your feet up, take it easy, and stay healthy. Love Emm xx
Hi
Thanks for your reply. Physically, I am coping really well. If anything, the worse is the very sudden, extreme tiredness that sends me off for a nap. Unfortunately, mentally I am struggling. It is impossible to switch your mind off. It is something that I just cannot do.
My consultant is going to call me in two weeks to let me know my results.
Take care of yourself and thanks for the support.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
