  • Hi Craft Queen,

Wishing you all the best for today, hope everything goes well for you.

Once I got to the hospital and had chats with the pre op nurse and my Consultant to sign the consent form everything seemed to move very quickly. The next thing I remember was waking up on the ward so hopefully will be the same for you. I took a book to read while I waited to be called, gave me something to distract myself.

Sending you a big hug Hugging

  • Thank you Amycdi , and thank you for the hugs xxxx

  • Hope all goes well for you today. X

  • Hi - wishing you all the best for today: it'll be over before you know it. Worst part for me was the walk to the theatre - if I hadn't been wearing a hospital gown I may have made a break for it but probably wouldn't have got far. Take care, Dx

  • Hi By the time you read this you'll probably be back in your bed thinking "what was all the fuss about!" Reading what made me smile. The porter who walked me down was such a nice young man I wasn't going anywhere!

Don't forget when you wake up if you do find you're in pain (I only ever felt discomfort - honest!) let the nurses know - my ward sister said don't let the pain take over, shout if you need more relief. I had been given an epidural for pain and it really helped. Other ladies had a morphine pump to self administer.

Sending cotton wool hugs, Barb xx

  • Thank you so so much everyone for your kind words and Dreamweaver I can definitely relate lol. I was last on the list for the afternoon, all prepped and ready to go. At 4:15 the consultant came to see me and I knew, …due to a longer procedure with another patient they were having to cancel my op. He was lovely and very apologetic. He will re schedule and hopefully fit me in within the next two weeks. I was gutted with a fleeting sense of relief . Woke up this  morning feeling totally meh….
But hey ho , life happens and someone else needed him more than me yesterday and I so hope their operation went well.
So back to work for me today

    Sending hugs Em xxx

  • Oh Em, how I feel for you, to be all prepped and ready to go! What a truly lovely thing to say - someone else needed him more than you. I've a tear in my eye, I'd like to think I could be as magnanimous as that in the same situation.

Sending extra special hugs your way, Barb xx
