Hi all
i was diagnosed a year ago with the early stages of womb cancer but there unable to do anything until I’ve lost weight but they have put in a merina coil when I went for the first hysteroscopy and biopsy.
I got a letter today from my latest hysteroscopy and biopsy that advised the following -
‘Still shows a small focus of abnormal cells in the lining of the womb. We will discuss your case in our multidisciplinary team meeting and I will write to you regarding further management’
-wondered if anyone can explain exactly what happens with these things. Any advice or information anyone can give me would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
chrissie
The MDT meeting is all the teams that are relevant to your type of cancer. It's usually the gynaecologist, radiographer etc. In my case because it was a sarcoma they involved the Christie hospital in Manchester for their opinion too as they have a sarcoma team. When the MDT have come to a decision about how best to treat you they will tell you what the plan is. Deb
Hi Deb
Thanks for that it does help a little.
Anyone have any advice on how to cope worth this stuff
This was my first hysteroscopy at the new hospital as I moved areas so I think they had something similar at the old hospital they said my only option was a hysterectomy.
The only problem is cos I'm 35 stone they can't operate until I've lost quite a bit of weight. I am really trying to do this but it's just not easy I'm finding it very difficult to deal with everything I'm still trying to get my head round the diagnosis itself. I'm 42 and haven't had any children so it rocked me alot when they told me the diagnosis which adds to the stress and I already suffer with anxiety at the best of times.
Just feels like I'm trying to deal with all this stuff and losing the weight as well feels like I'm failing at everything sometimes. I'm sure everyone goes through this I just can't seem to see a way past it all.
I think the MDT is probably gonna come up with the same option I did get referred for weight loss surgery but found I just couldn't cope with yet something else that was stressing me out and do I had to pull out of that for my own sanity.
Regards
Chrissie
Womb. Hi again Chrissie. I myself haven't had children, my CNS told me our cancer basically feeds on Oestrogen so if you're not breastfeeding, on the pill being pregnant the oestrogen will build up. Especially if you're overweight. I'm slightly overweight but there are other ladies here who are if anything underweight!.
I know how hard it can be to lose weight, especially at time when you want to comfort eat. I found dishing up on a smaller plate helped. I rarely eat fried food, don't binge on sweets or chocolate so couldn't work out where the weight comes from but I do like a couple of scotch and cokes (diet) in the evening - alcohol provides empty calories and I did notice when I came off drink totally last year (between hysteroscopy via epidural and Brachytherapy) my weight started to come off easily. Also not going out for pub lunches last year because of lockdown made a difference - less a couple of spritzers! Gosh I sound like an alchy!
Just keep at it, you'll get there. I've never joined anything like a slimming club, I don't need to to be embarrassed in front of a lot of strangers to know when I need to lose weight but a friend went to slimming world and said it was brilliant!
Hugs, Barb x

Have you tried Slimming World? They have a community like Macmillan do. Very supportive and understanding. Plus you can eat a lot so should never be hungry. If your issue if that you are scared to do without food (like mine was).
I WAS 25.5 stone at the start of my weight loss journey. I am currently 16 stone. Still a way to go. But it means at this start of my battle with womb cancer, I am able to get the operation I need.
You will be surprised at how quick the weight will come off and how much support you will receive from your friends here and there.
Good luck with both fights, you are a warrior and you have this!! We will be here for you! Good luck.
Gosh Bumbliana, that's a big weight loss. Well done to you.
